| Majolica | Usually white or light coloured background tin oxide glaze with another decoration glaze applied on top, introduced to Italy from Majorca, where it is believed the process developed. Usually decoration on the raw glaze surface, glaze-on-glaze painting. Tin-enamel ware. Very popular since being made, forged to an extreme level, few original specimens from the 16th century survive. |
